[Prime Economy] KOAI (CEO Park Kyung-taek), a company specializing in marine pollution control, announced on the 19th that it had successfully completed the ‘KOBOT’ flight test conducted at ‘Port Klang’, Malaysia’s largest port on the 15th. KOAI achieved more than expected results in the smart equipment test to respond to oil pollution in the port during the OGA (Oil and Gas Asia) exhibition and delegation event sponsored by Busan City and BMEA (Busan Shipbuilding and Marine Equipment Cooperative). According to an official, ‘Port Klang’ equipment management personnel who observed the event received suggestions on equipment rental and purchase conditions, and successfully completed global tests in response to equipment operation test instructions from attendees.

A total of 30 people participated in the test, including 20 key managers, including 3 port management personnel, port police, safety management personnel, and equipment teams, 3 Koi Diamond Bridge headquarters directors, and KOAI Malaysia partner Sendai. KOBOT, an unmanned self-propelled spilled oil recovery robot, is jointly researched and developed by KOAI, a company specializing in marine pollution control, with KIST and Seoul National University. It is a marine oil pollution response equipment with innovative technology. The hydrophilic ratchet metal material technology and app-driven control device technology through drones are applied. CEO Park Kyung-taek said, “This year, participation in major events such as Entech in Hanoi, ADIPEC in Abu Dhabi, and SLUSH in Finland has been confirmed. The prospect of exploring overseas markets is very bright.”
